Order Now - Eat Healthy • Be Active Community Workshops book: For a limited time, Local WIC Providers in Missouri are invited to order the resource Eat Healthy • Be Active Community Workshops book from our Kansas City District U.S. Food and Drug Administration office. Order the number of copies needed for your agency using the attached order form. One copy per nutritionist/CPA is suggested. The books, based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2010 and 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, are provided at no charge. Each of the six workshops includes lesson plans, activities, and handouts. The complete workshop series is also available online at http://www.health.gov/dietaryguidelines/workshops/. FFY2014 LAP Manual: The FFY2014 Local Agency Plan (LAP) manual is now available on the DHSS web site at http://health.mo.gov/living/families/wic/wiclwp/policies.php. We anticipate that the LAP application will be available by July 15. An email will be sent to the WIC Coordinator and Nutrition Coordinator at each agency when the application is available. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact your Technical Assistance staff.
WIC Press Release: The 2013 annual WIC press release is on the DHSS website. You may receive contacts from the media so please be prepared to take this opportunity to build your relationships with the local media and to share local data you think would be of interest.
JOB OPPORTUNITY: Nutritionist - City of St. Joseph Health Department: The City of St. Joseph Health Department has an immediate opening for a nutritionist. This position will assist with administering the WIC program while following the policies and procedures established by the Federal and State government. They will also participate in the development and implementation of nutritional counseling and education for the local Women/Infant/Children (WIC) Nutrition Program as well as coordinating nutrition and breast-feeding services provided to participants in the WIC Program. There are no supervisory responsibilities and limited budgetary responsibilities.
