e-Learning Update: We last gave an update on e-Learning in the WIC Updates of May 21, 2012 and have updates now for the following WIC trainings:
Training Coordinator: We are planning on having this training in the fall of 2013. We will give updates on this as we have more information.
WIC Basic Orientation/MOWINS: We are gradually transitioning these trainings from face-to-face to webinar. Continue to register as you have in the past. If any part of the training has been converted to webinar and therefore will shorten the time for the training in Jefferson City, staff will be notified when they register. If webinars are available, staff will be expected to view them prior to the training.
WIC Coordinator/Nutrition Coordinator: We are also transitioning these trainings from face-to-face to webinar. Continue to register as you have in the past. If any part of the training has been converted to webinar and therefore will shorten the time for the training in Jefferson City, staff will be notified when they register. If webinars are available, staff will be expected to view them prior to the training.
If you have questions, please contact Mark Davis at Mark.Davis@health.mo.gov or 573-526-5323 or 800-392-8209.
Missouri WIC Program Privacy Poster: The State WIC Office recently received approval from USDA to make a change to the Participant Confidentiality policy, ER # 1.01700. The change was made to address the situation of individuals taking pictures of others without their permission while at a local agency. In section G.1of this policy, it states: “LWP shall assure appropriate signage is posted limiting the use of cameras and all photographic images”. We have developed a poster that satisfies this requirement. It has been mailed to all local agencies, with enough copies for each satellite site. Please promptly post the enclosed poster(s) at all local agency sites.
If you have not received the poster or do not have enough copies, please contact Mark Davis at Mark.Davis@health.mo.gov or 573-526-5323 or 800-392-8209.
Gerber Infant Cereals-Package & Name Changes: Gerber will change their cereal containers from the current box to a plastic container. Infant cereals in plastic containers are scheduled for the national launch in March 2013. All cereals (Rice, Oatmeal, Barley, Whole Wheat and MultiGrain) in both 8oz and 16oz will be in plastic containers.
Mixed Grain Cereal will be renamed to Multigrain Cereal. With the name change, MultiGrain Cereal will contain barley and rye in addition to rice, oatmeal and whole wheat in the original recipe.
Please share the changes with your staff and participants. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov. (ONE ATTACHMENT)
