National Infant Immunization Week, April 20-27, 2013: In conjunction with National Infant Immunization Week, April 20-27, 2013, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is encouraging Missourians to take some time to ensure their children and all family members are adequately immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases. National Infant Immunization Week is held each year to highlight the importance of protecting children two years and younger from vaccine-preventable diseases. This year’s theme is: Immunizations: Power to Protect. In response to a request by some LWP’s, the Bureau of Immunization Assessment and Assurance has a DVD that contains personal stories of families affected by vaccine-preventable diseases. These videos stress the importance of immunizations. Please play them in your waiting rooms during WIC clinic hours. LWP’s can request the DVD by sending an email or calling Lynelle Paro using the contact information Lynelle.Paro@health.mo.gov or by calling her 573.526.7659.
