Chronic Disease MICAs

Welcome to the web-based data query system for chronic diseases and conditions.  Using the Missouri Information for Community Assessment (MICA) data tools, you can generate tables, maps, and graphics on selected chronic diseases and conditions for Missouri residents.  Data from the following data systems are available:  death records, inpatient hospitalizations, emergency room visits, and cancer incidence.

To begin your query first select a data system of interest, then choose whether you want to generate tables by county/city/state or by zip code.  A third option allows you to generate a map based on your input for the query.  Cancer incidence tables can be generated only for county, region and state.  Maps are not available for cancer incidence.

Population estimates back to the last decennial Census are updated annually to reflect the most recently released estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. The next update is planned for Wednesday, December 17, 2014. This update will load 2013 data and revise 2011 and 2012 data. Due to the change in population estimates, 2011 and 2012 rates obtained from this site after the update will differ from the rates currently posted. Rates for years 2010 and earlier are locked and will not change. If you have questions about population estimates, please contact the Bureau of Health Care Analysis and Data Dissemination at 573-751-6272.
