Missouri Health Care-Associated Infection Reporting System

The Missouri Healthcare-Associated Infection Reporting System (MHIRS) site has been developed to provide information to healthcare providers on the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) reporting requirements for healthcare-associated infections. With the passage of the Missouri Nosocomial Infection Control Act of 2004, hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers are required to report healthcare-associated infections to the DHSS. (For additional information on the statute and related rules, see Laws, Regulations and Manuals.)

Facilities may choose to report their data directly to the DHSS, using the MHIRS website application, or through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Regardless of the reporting method, the healthcare facility must log on to the MHIRS registration site and complete a registration form.

MHIRS Registration Login

To access the MHIRS registration form, the healthcare facility must log on to the registration site. The login screen will prompt you to select your facility name and to enter your password. The password for the MHIRS registration has been mailed to each facility administrator.

Registration Form Instructions and Information

Once you have logged on to the MHIRS registration website, a screen will appear with your facility name and address information. You can then proceed to complete the registration form. Please note: An asterisk indicates a required data field.
