Oral Health

Oral health is important for the health of your entire body. Everyday tasks such as eating or speaking can be harder for people with oral health issues. Poor oral health is connected to serious health issues like diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Pregnant women who do not take care of their oral health have a much higher chance of having a preterm or low birth weight baby. Fortunately, it is easy to prevent oral health issues with healthy habits!

Protect Your Smile

Oral health problems are preventable. Brush your teeth two times a day, floss daily, drink fluoridated water, and use products that contain fluoride like mouthwash and toothpaste. Try to see your dentist twice a year to keep your mouth clean. At check-ups with your dentist, a fluoride varnish might be recommended for younger children. Making smart food choices and developing healthy eating habits are also important for good oral health.

We do not offer direct care like dental cleanings or fillings for cavities. We offer education and resources on how to improve oral health for Missourians.
